Starting Monday, sections of West Brazito Road will be closed during the day for culvert replacements.
According to a Cole County Public Works news release, some stormwater culverts along the road have failed and need replacement.
The replacements are in preparation for a new chip and seal surface that will be applied later in the summer, the release said.
The sections undergoing work will be closed from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until the work is finished. The release said the work is estimated to be done by May 26, weather permitting.
Work crews will detour traffic on gravel roads, however, the release encourages drivers to find alternate routes until the work is finished.
