McCarter leads in spending in Blair Oaks race

Mark McCarter leads the way in spending in the Blair Oaks School Board election with nearly double the amount spent by the only other candidate with a committee, Sarah Lueckenhoff.

McCarter’s campaign seems to be self-funded, while Lueckenhoff has a few other contributors listed, according to campaign finance documents from the Missouri Ethics Commission website.

Five candidates are vying for three available seats on the Blair Oaks School Board: incumbent Doug Moeller and challengers Luke Fitzpatrick, Sarah Fessler, Mark McCarter and Sarah Lueckenhoff.

Moeller, Fitzpatrick and Fessler did not have an active campaign committee listed on the Missouri Ethics Commission website.

McCarter’s candidate committee, with Peggy Luebbert serving as treasurer, brought in a total of $3,253.71 this election. McCarter contributed the entirety of that total himself through loans and in-kind contributions.

The committee spent a total of $3,016.53 this election, including payments made by check, cash and credit card.

The committee has $606.97 on hand.

Lueckenhoff’s candidate committee, with Claire Neeley serving as treasurer, reported $1882.63 in receipts this election. It spent $1,402.42 and has $480.21 on hand.

Contributing to Lueckenhoff’s candidate committee were Karen Griggs for $845, Jim Harvey for $500, and Tom Hoeferlin for $250. Committees must report donations of more than $100.
