Prep Baseball: Fatima 12, Fulton 0

FULTON -- Max Buscher scattered just three hits in 5⅔ innings and didn’t allow a hit until the sixth inning Thursday, leading the Fatima Comets to a 12-0 victory against the Fulton Hornets.

Buscher allowed three hits in the sixth inning and struck out seven batters to earn the win.

The Comets led 2-0 through five innings, then scored five runs in each of the final two innings to cruise to a 12-run victory.

Cody Schwartze hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning to give Fatima a 1-0 lead. The Comets tacked on another run in the fifth.

Blake Gentges and Jacob Schulte each had two-run hits in the sixth inning for Fatima. Gentges added a two-run single in the seventh, leading the Comets with four RBI.

Schulte and Jack Robertson each had two RBI, while Easton Stuckenschneider and Brody Kleffner each finished with two hits.

Gentges pitched the final 1⅓ innings for the Comets, walking one and striking out one.

Fatima (3-0), which is receiving votes in Class 4, plays Saturday against Class 4 No. 2 Logan-Rogersville and Class 4 No. 4 Father Tolton on Saturday in Springfield.
