The Cathedral of St. Joseph will now have belfries and bells that will be installed in them. As part of the major renovation nearing conclusion, the bells were blessed by Bishop Shawn McKnight Tuesday, March 21, 2023, during a ceremony in the narthex. There are five bells, the largest of which is named Saint Joseph in honor of the patron of the cathedral. The bell, which is 45 inches in diameter, is made of brass and weighs 1,800 pounds, includes the relief-style inscription "Holy to the Lord" from the Bible verse Zechariah 14:20. The bells were to be installed and ringing by week's end.
