YOUR OPINION: Be sure to fact-check

Dear Editor,

If Joe Biden had run for president in the 2016 election, rather than Hillary Clinton, would we have ever heard of Donald Trump again?

I feel it's conclusive that Joe Biden would have beaten Donald Trump in 2016 just like he did in 2020. Why? Because Hillary won the popular vote in 2016 by about 2 million votes, but lost the electoral vote due mainly to Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Many still believe that those voters did not vote for Trump but voted against Hillary. Trump was just considered the lesser of two evils.

I don't know for certain if Donald Trump will be the leading Republican candidate for president in the 2024 election, but if he is, be aware of all the lawsuits against him. Those need to be settled before he even considers running as a candidate, because they will only distract him from doing a good job for his admirers.

Many Democrats are concerned about Biden's age and mental status, while many Republicans wonder how Trump has stayed out of prison. The 2024 election should provide much interest and concern for the future success of America as a democracy. One thing both Democrats and Republicans must have learned from the last election and that is to "fact-check" anything said on Fox News. Anyone who listens to most any news source, knows what I'm talking about.
