Lebanon man pleads guilty to DWI

A Lebanon man pleaded guilty to one of several charges related to a 2022 narcotics arrest in February.

Seth Mason, 23, was charged in March 2022 with felony possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanor charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, careless and imprudent driving, and driving while intoxicated. He pleaded guilty Feb. 28 to the DWI charge and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, two years of unsupervised probation and 75 days of community service.

According to Jefferson City Police Department reports, an impaired driver was reported in March 2022 on U.S. 63, going south through Jefferson City. Responding officers located the vehicle near the U.S. 50/63 and U.S. 54 interchange and shortly after it crashed into the concrete retaining wall on 54.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but Mason reportedly failed to yield and continued traveling north across the Missouri River bridge, crossing multiple lanes of traffic. The vehicle eventually stopped at the U.S. 54/Route W overpass.

Officers said they found Mason to be impaired, and he refused to submit to field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody. Officers searched the vehicle and reportedly located more than 2 pounds of marijuana inside.
