A Jefferson City woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday on U.S. Highway 50/63 in Jefferson City.

According to a Jefferson City Police Department news release, Adam N. Ragar, of Monroe City, was driving west on Highway 50/63 when his brakes malfunctioned.

Ragar, 44, was unable to stop at a red light and drove into the path of Stephanie M. Ward, of Jefferson City. Ward, 67, was driving south from Jefferson Street.

Ragar's 2002 Ford F-250 drove off the right side of the road and hit a yield sign. His vehicle was extensively damaged, and Ward's 2014 Chevrolet Impala was totaled.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and Ward suffered moderate injuries. EMS took her to a local hospital. Ragar was uninjured.
