C. Don Lee,
Holts Summit
Dear Editor,
I've been remiss in not sending my latest thoughts to opinion. Others seem willing to send lengthy diatribes and informative essays on a regular basis. At age 98, I seem to have forgotten most of my issues with present and former government entities.
But one thing has my attention and that's the controversial ever raising of the debt limit to prevent our nation from entering bankruptcy. Let's hope the brinkmanship being exhibited by both parties is soon resolved by the inevitable penetrating of the trillions debt calling to new heights. It's way too late to do anything else.
Maybe our governing bodies, future congressional and executive, can reach a future economies to stabilize expenses and "balance the budget," but the time for such activities is later after we pay our bills. Let's cut the crap and do what we have to do.
