McDonald’s to recognize work of area nurses

by Joe Gamm | June 9, 2023 at 4:00 a.m.

Community members may nominate nurses for McDonald's Nurse Excellence Awards now through June 15.

McDonald's restaurants are again celebrating nurses with the awards, which honor nurses who exhibit dedication to their patients and "go above and beyond" to ensure care for their communities.

Ten winners will each receive $200 gift cards.

Nominations may be submitted through Surveymonkey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/mcdnurseaward.

In Central Missouri, nurses must work in Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan and Osage counties.

Rhiannon McCafferty, a representative of Bergman Communications, said on behalf of McDonald's, "When COVID began, it was important to McDonald's to acknowledge our healthcare workers who were tirelessly supporting our communities. A way we could honor each of them was through free beverages for healthcare promotions and from there it transitioned into Thank You Meals. In the spirit of keeping the tradition alive when it comes to our relationship with healthcare workers, McDonald's has been proud to honor extraordinary nurses who go above and beyond, each and every day, with our second annual Nurse Excellence Awards."
