Backyard Concert season kicks off soon

Grab a blanket or lawn chair and get ready to head to the Lohman lawn, because it's nearly time for the Backyard concert series.

This family-friendly event that returns June 17 presents a wide mix of music from three different bands performing genres ranging from folk rock, country, Americana, blues and more.

Hosted by the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, the concerts will take place in Jefferson City on the Lohman Lawn, 100 Jefferson St.

Kicking off this year's lineup will be Rod and John Music on June 17 with a mix of folk rock, country and traditional music from the 1970s to today.

Following them up on July 22 will be John Williams and Robert Macket with their traditional Missouri fiddle and guitar.

Closing out the 2023 season on Aug. 26 will be the Gibson Girls, an acoustic duo playing a blend of Americana, folk, blues and original music.

The concerts will be moved inside the Lohman Building in the event of rain. All concerts are free and open to the public.
