JC Schools, state put focus on retaining new teachers

Jefferson City School District has reached its highest retention rate for newly hired teachers in more than five years.

According to data supplied by the district, JC Schools hired 120 new teachers this year, and 110 elected to return next year, for a retention rate of about 92 percent.
