Boys Basketball: Eugene 50, School of the Osage 43

ELDON -- The fourth quarter was the difference Saturday, as the second-seeded Eugene Eagles pulled away for a 50-43 victory against the No. 4 seed School of the Osage Indians in the third-place game of the Eldon Tournament.

The Eagles led 13-7 after one but the Indians cut their deficit to 25-23 headed into halftime. The two sides were tied at 32 at the end of three.

Eugene went on an 8-0 run to start the final eight minutes to take a 40-32 lead with 4:45 left and the Eagles never gave the momentum back.

Ethan Wunderlich led the way with 11 points for Eugene (15-4) and Justice Allen added 10. Both players were named to the all-tournament team following the game. The Eagles will be back in action Tuesday at home against Linn in Show-Me Conference play.

Jordan Whelchel had a team-high 17 points for Osage (9-9) and JP Kordula finished in double figures with 12. Will Faulconer was named to the all-tournament team for the Indians, who will play Friday at home against Versailles.
