Boys Basketball: Slater 63, Jamestown 48

SLATER -- Behind 32 points from Brandon Terrill, the No. 2 seed Slater Wildcats picked up a 63-48 first-round victory against the seventh-seeded Jamestown Eagles on Tuesday in the Slater Wildcat Classic.

The Wildcats led 14-11 after one, 26-17 at halftime and scored 22 points in the third to lead 48-34 headed into the fourth.

Jamestown was able to cut its deficit to nine early in the fourth but Slater led by as much as 19 at 62-43 with less than a minute left.

Grayson Zdybel joined Terrill in double figures with 13 points for Slater (10-9), who will take on the winner of Brunswick and Sweet Springs at 9 p.m. Thursday. Brunswick and Sweet Springs’ contest was not final at press time.

Tyler Wilson finished with a team-high 23 points for Jamestown (4-12). The Eagles will face the loser of Brunswick and Sweet Springs at 6 p.m. Thursday.
