Julie Smith/News Tribune photo: Larsen Daehnick, an exercise physiologist at Sam. B. Cook Healthplex, works with Steve Lambert on the rope trainer machine Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at the facility. In an effort to stave off some of the effects of Parkinson's Disease, Lambert attends the Healthplex four times a week. Since starting a steady course of activities, including the Rock Steady Boxing program, Lambert has lost about 40 pounds and says he feels so much better and really sees a difference in his capability and steadiness.

The Sam B. Cook Healthplex Fitness Center will host Community Day on Saturday.
