This week, Scene One Theatre in Jefferson City will present "Tales from the Rough Writers," part of its annual showcase to feature the work of its writers group, The Rough Writers.

The writers were given a theme this year, which was "December." The group meets one or two times a month to discuss ideas and write short stories.

The evening features two monologues and four short plays: "The High Plains" by Brian Bray, "St. Stephens Day" by Deborah Tragasz, "AI Surprise" by Anonymous, "The Clock Never Ticked" by Marie Benson, "Tow Truck" by Deborah Tragasz and "First Draft" by Karen Kramer.

"Tales from the Rough Writers" runs at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday at Scene One, located at 620 Ohio St. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved on sceneonetheatre.com.
