A Camdenton man was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday night.
Dennis N. Harmon, 48, was driving his 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 11 p.m. on U.S. 54 East when he drove off the left side of the road, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.
The motorcycle hit the median cable barrier and ejected Harmon. He was not wearing a helmet.
A Mercy ambulance took Harmon to Lake Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later.
Four Illinois and Missouri men were injured in an accident Thursday night in Camden County.
Andrew Thompson, 32, of Collinsville, Illinois, was driving a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT truck around 11:10 p.m. south on Route TT near Three Oaks Drive in Sunrise Beach when the truck went off the right side of the road.
According to a Highway Patrol crash report, the truck overturned and ejected Thompson and one of the truck's passengers, Michael Eggers, 39, of Imperial.
The other two passengers, Justin Harris, 27, of Arnold, and Brandon Webber, 29, of Waterloo, Illinois, were not ejected. They suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment on the scene.
Thompson and Eggers both suffered serious injuries. A helicopter flew Thompson to University Hospital for treatment and another helicopter took Eggers to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
An Alabama man was injured in a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Callaway County.
Charles X. Hopkins, 81, of Arley, Alabama, was driving around 12:30 p.m. west on Interstate 70 when he was struck from behind by Reddys P. Leal-Vega, 31, of Miami, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.
Hopkins' 2011 Toyota Tacoma went off the road and overturned, totaling the vehicle and inflicting minor injuries on Hopkins.
Leal-Vega's 2023 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck sustained only minor damages, and Leal-Vega was uninjured.
Hopkins was wearing a seatbelt and Callaway County EMS transported him to the University Hospital for treatment.
