The Kiwanis Club of Fulton is hosting Family Day in the Park to celebrate its 100th anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Mary Martin, treasurer of the Fulton Kiwanis Club, said the event is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the club and is their way to "just give back to Callaway County."

The free event will include activities like rock painting, sack races, 3-legged races and a dunking booth. Hula hoop classes will be taught by Amy Dalton, and hoops will be provided.

Martin said that all activities at the event are intended to be enjoyed by all ages.

"Zero to 150, it doesn't matter," Martin said, adding "we want anyone and everyone to come."

Hot dogs, water, Backer's chips and freezer pops will be provided.

Nick's Barnyard Buddies, a mobile petting zoo, will bring "over 35 different critters" to the event, Martin said.

Local band Double Vision will perform classic rock and "are so excited to play," according to Martin. The band will play at the Veterans Park amphitheater at 4 p.m.

Bubbles and sidewalk chalk will be handed out to the first 100 kids in attendance.

The event will be 3-7 p.m. at Veterans Park at the corner of 10th Street and Wood Street in Fulton.

"Kiwanis is truly about kids," Martin said. The Fulton Kiwanis Club sponsors the high school Key Club and two different Boy Scout troops in the area.

All the money the Fulton Kiwanis Club has raised stays in Callaway County, which Martin says is "huge for us."
