Three Jefferson City businesses face penalties after they failed alcohol compliance checks early Friday night.
We B Smokin', 2215 Missouri Blvd.; Macadoodles, 1806 Missouri Blvd.; and Natural Grocers, 3535 Missouri Blvd. Suite 129, each failed the checks, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release. Thirteen other businesses passed the checks.
The police department, Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) and Jefferson City Council for Drug Free Youth conducted the checks at various businesses throughout the city, according to the release.
Authorities issued citations to offending clerks to appear in municipal court on charges of selling alcohol to minors.
ATC will take further action against the businesses depending on how many previous violations they have had.
The release noted that the check was the fifth held at We B Smokin', and that the business had failed each time. The release had no further information on Macadoodles or Natural Grocers.
