Scene One Theatre in Jefferson City is taking guests back to New York City in the 1960s during its upcoming production.

"The Odd Couple" follows two men and their struggles in sharing an apartment. Oscar, the divorcee who doesn't take things too seriously, including cleanliness, butts heads with Felix, his neat-freak friend who was recently kicked out of his house because of his marital problems.

"The Odd Couple" opens Wednesday and runs through May 6. Evening shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and the matinee show starts at 2 p.m. on May 6.

The eight-member cast includes Chris Kennison as Oscar Maddison, Peter Lyskowski as Felix Unger, Greg Barnes as Speed, Barry Beach as Murray, William Schatte as Roy, Tim Thompson as Vinnie, Karin Schatte as Gwendolyn Pigeon and Kira Rutter as Cecily Pigeon.

"The interactions between Oscar and Felix is what they will probably enjoy the most," director Ron Vossen said.

Vossen added: "Both Chris and Peter are just doing an excellent job as Oscar and Felix."

Tickets for the show are $15 and can be purchased by emailing Scene One Theatre at [email protected] or by calling 573-635-6713.
