Stained Glass Theatre is set to premiere their production of "The Giver" on April 27.

Based on the book by the same name, this production follows Jonas and The Giver, two people tasked with keeping the memories of the whole community in a town where everything is supposed to be the same.

"And they see how that just doesn't work too well and they try to figure out a way to make things better," said Curtis Treat, one of the directors of this show.

The cast is made up of nearly 15 members. Oliver Bax will be portraying Jonas, Steve Feldman will be The Giver, Mike Landrum is Father, Katie Light is Mother and Alex Johnston is The Chief Elder.

"We have a wonderful cast. They've been working very, very hard," Treat said.

The show will run April 27-May 6. Tickets are $15 every night except opening night, when tickets are only $10. The show starts at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
