Home to world-famous live entertainment, endless outdoor activities and shopping aplenty, Branson, Missouri, has everything you need for your next weekend getaway with the family. Tucked away in the hills of Southwest Missouri, Branson has modern escapes and historical excursions sure to satisfy every aesthetic.

Branson has one of the most popular amusement parks in the state: Silver Dollar City. The 1880s-themed amusement park boasts over 40 rides and rollercoasters, more than 100 craftsmen, 60 shops, 18 restaurants and several live shows and concerts. “Our mission is to serve our guests to ensure they have memorable shared experiences, and to ultimately help bring families closer together,” said Silver Dollar City publicist Sawyer Nichols.

If you want to shop ‘til you drop and get more bang for your buck, the Branson Tanger Outlets has many brand-name stores with items at discounted prices. Stores like Lululemon, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Vera Bradley and more have some of their most desired items on sale at the Tanger Outlets.

Speaking of shopping, take a stroll at the Branson Landing, a lakeside mall with dining and entertainment. Roam around and shop or sit and eat at Paula Deen's Family Kitchen, Guy Fieri's Branson Kitchen + Bar or about a dozen other options at the Landing. If you go later in the day, you just might see the sunset over the historic waterfront.

If you’re searching for an authentic, locally-owned restaurant, Thai Thai Cuisine is unmatched. Their menu highlights include shrimp rolls, drunken noodles and a variety of Thai teas. With a lengthy menu, everyone is guaranteed to find something they enjoy.

As Southwest Missouri’s entertainment hub, Branson is known for its concerts and shows covering every genre. From “A George Strait & Friends Tribute” to “Anthems of Rock” to “ABBA Tribute: Thank You for the Music,” there’s something that every music taste can rock to this summer.

Branson has beautiful hills and numerous hiking trails, one being Lakeside Wilderness Trail. Right off of the entertainment district, the trail offers breathtaking views of Lake Taneycomo and the College of the Ozarks campus. The first half-mile of the hike is suitable for hikers of all ages. Following is the most strenuous part of the hike, consisting of 315 stone steps. The bottom of the steps reveals caves, wet-weather waterfalls and bluffs for further hiking.

When it’s time to wind down at the end of the day, Branson has a variety of hotels, lodges and condos. Big Cedar Lodge, an upscale hotel with lakeside cottages and lodging rooms, is the perfect place for a peaceful staycation with a rustic vibe. Skye Retreat is an ideal rental to book if you’re traveling with multiple families or friends. The 5,100-square-foot house can comfortably fit up to 32 people and has a hot tub, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a pool table and an incredible view of Table Rock Lake.
