Election judges report mixed turnout

Tuesday was voting day and Marilyn and Dennis Tackett showed up at Ward 2/Precinct 3 at Capital City Christian Church to cast their ballots. At the time they voted, they were the only two voters in the room. The pace was slow but turnout was relatively steady, be it one or two at a time at this location. Cole County Clerk Steve Korsmeyer predicted a 12 percent turnout and some judges said that they would be really happy if their count did reach that level. (Julie Smith/News Tribune)
