Third round-table discussion on homelessness is upcoming

The Jefferson City Homeless Task Force will host its third round-table discussion on issues facing the homeless community from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 13.

Through the first two discussions, Unhoused Solutions has made Jefferson City aware of the challenges it faces in efforts to find resources for unhoused people, according to organizers. Now, the group needs to connect with people who might exert more political or financial influence on behalf of others in need.

The upcoming meeting will be an opportunity for the task force to set short- and long-term goals, organizers said.

It is a hope that actionable items come out of the Oct. 13 meeting, which is to be held in the indoor pavilion at McClung Park.

People with questions should email Stefani Thompson, Cole County community organizer with Central Missouri Community Action, at [email protected].
