Blair Oaks, Russellville homecomings set for this week


Blair Oaks and Russellville high schools will be celebrating Homecoming this week.

Blair Oaks' Homecoming theme this year is "Wild Wild West."

Students will celebrate the theme with spirit day themes, including:

• "Hitting the Hay," wear pajamas.

• "Howdy Partner," dress as twins.

• "Country vs. Country Club," dress as one or the other.

• "Yee-Haw Draw," wear class colors for powderpuff game.

• "You're in Falcon Country," wear green and Falcon gear.

Juniors and seniors will face off in a powderpuff game Thursday, which is not open to the public except for families of participants.

The Homecoming parade will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday, beginning at the high school and heading down Falcon Lane, with the school assembly to follow.

The game against Versailles will be at 7 p.m. Friday, and the queen will be crowned at halftime.

There will also be a Homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. Saturday.

Russellville will also have Homecoming this week, with the theme being "All Aboard!"

Theme days include:

• "International Cruise Day," dress in Hawaiian clothes.

• "Jon Boat Day," wear country and fishing gear.

• "Yacht Day," dress preppy/country club.

• "Float Trip Day," wear float gear and use anything but a backpack.

• "Blue and White Day," wear Russellville colors.

The Homecoming pep rally is Friday, and the parade will be at 2:30 p.m.

The game will be at 7 p.m. against the Crystal City Hornets, with the coronation included.

The Homecoming dance is from 7-10 p.m. Saturday.
