Hagemeyer wins individual title for Calvary Lutheran cross country

BELLE -- Calvary Lutheran’s Kyle Hagemeyer won for the third time in four cross country races to start the season as he claimed the boys individual title Thursday at the Belle Invitational.

Hagemeyer won the race with a time of 16:52.0, helping the Lions to a first-place finish with 47 points in the team standings.

Salem was runner-up in the boys standings with 56 points, followed by Steelville (74) and Chamois (80).

Jaxson Jobe took second place out of 53 runners in the boys race for Calvary Lutheran, posting a time of 17:30.2.

Jack Schnitzler finished 15th with a time of 19:40.8, while Ben Kuhlmann placed 27th in 20:33.6. Gage Pavely rounded out the Lions’ team score with a 24th-place time of 21:26.0.

Also running for the Lions were Seth Hobratschk (39th, 22:15.4) and Adam Berck (22:20.9).

The Calvary Lutheran girls also won a team title with 26 points. Linn was second with 42 points and Cuba placed third with 55.

Maddie Homfeldt led the Lady Lions with a second-place finish out of 36 runners, clocking a time of 21:00.8. Her teammate, Sonya Brunner, placed third in 21:27.3 and Maddy Sprengel was fifth in 22:27.5.

Mikayla Yutzy was next for Calvary Lutheran, placing 15th in 24:56.8. Sydney Morris finished 22nd in 26:23.7 and Madelyn Goodson was 31st in 29:30.6.

Calvary Lutheran will compete Saturday in the Hermitage Invitational.
