CALIFORNIA -- Book lovers, rejoice.

The Friends of the Moniteau County Library's annual book sale is coming up. Thousands of items -- books, audiobooks, movies and other media -- will be sold throughout the week on the second floor of the Moniteau County Library at Wood Place, 501 S. Oak St., in California.

The sale will take place 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 11-13, and 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 15. Books will be sold at half price on Oct. 15. Media for all ages of varying genres will be sold at the event.

"For each book sale, we have new inventories of our used books and media," LouAnn Wolfe, chairperson of the event, said in a news release. "We don't hold over items for the next sale, so shoppers will be looking at a refreshed inventory each year. There will be plenty of great items for sale."

Proceeds from the sale will fund Friends of the Moniteau County Library projects, such as the Speaker's Showcase, Little Free Libraries and Books for Newborns, the release said. The group's goal is "to enhance literacy and add to the cultural life of the community."
