Capitol Avenue will be spotlighted this year through the Historic City of Jefferson's 15th annual Historic Homes Tour.
The tour will be from 1- 5 p.m. Sunday on Capitol Avenue.
"We've actually done Capitol Avenue before," said Donna Deetz, the president of the Historic City of Jefferson. "This year, we're redoing Capitol Avenue to show what has happened since the tornado, what's been rehabbed."
This year's featured homes include:
• Ivy Terrace, 500 E. Capitol Ave.
• C.H. Colley Home, 501 E. Capitol Ave.
• Perry S. Rader Home, 504-506 E. Capitol Ave.
• Judge Ephraim Ewing Home, 512 E. Capitol Ave.
• Lester Shepard Parker Home, 625 E. Capitol Ave.
• R.H. Dallmeyer Home, 615 E. Capitol Ave.
• Tweedie House, 601 E. High St.
In the past, the event has brought around 500 people to view the impressive homes.
"Last year, because of COVID, we couldn't go into anybody's homes, we did a tour of some of the historical churches," Deetz said. "So, we're back to show what Capitol Avenue is becoming again because that's always been a huge historical area for Jefferson City."
Tickets for the event cost $15 if bought in advance and $20 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at Carrie's Hallmark, HyVee, Click2Sell4U, the HCJ office and historiccityofjefferson.org.
If the tickets were bought in advance, stop by the Historic City of Jefferson's registration tent on Capitol Avenue to pick them up before entering the event.
