TUSCUMBIA -- The St. Elizabeth Hornets pitched a combined no-hitter in a three-inning, run-rule 17-0 win against the Tuscumbia Lions.
Nick Heckemeyer pitched the first inning, walking one and striking out one, then Carter Otto struck out two and hit a batter in the second inning. Isaac Green pitched the final inning, striking out two more batters.
Heckemeyer was 1-for-1, hitting a two-run home run and drawing a walk, while Green hit a three-run home run and a sacrifice fly.
Caleb Oligschlaeger had two hits, including a double, and reached base on a walk and a hit by pitch on his way to two RBI.
St. Elizabeth (5-2) goes to the Eugene/New Bloomfield Tournament starting Friday. The Hornets will open the tournament against Higby at 6 p.m., then will play New Bloomfied at 8 p.m.
