West side businesses to host music festival fundraiser

The Jefferson City West Rotary Club will host its inaugural Music Fest on Saturday evening.

The event is intended to raise money for Service Park improvements, for Boy Scouts of America Five Rivers District and Project Redeem Ministry.

Service Park is located north of Missouri Boulevard (just west of Staples). The West Rotary Club and Jefferson City West Side Business Association have partnered for the past two years to adopt and improve it. They host regular cleanups there and have installed picnic tables in the park. Future improvements could include adding more tables, a playground and a pavilion, and constructing a walking path.

The event is 7 p.m. Saturday in the Miller Performing Arts Center, 501 Madison St.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling Tim Haas at 573-291-1374. Tickets are also available at jcwestrotary.harnessapp.com/wv2/donate?checkout=4886.

The event will feature seven performances. Local jazz saxophonist Xavier Jordan will perform prior to the show.

Seats are general admission, with the exception of the first few rows, which are reserved for sponsors.
