Two Jefferson City men face charges after two separate pursuits with authorities.

The first occurred Monday. Aaron Brown, 42, is charge with felony second-degree domestic assault, stealing and resisting a lawful stop along with misdemeanor fourth-degree domestic assault.

This began early Sunday morning as a domestic assault in the 200 block of West Ashley Street, according to Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statements.

The victim and Brown reportedly got into a struggle over the victim's phone, and Brown allegedly choked the victim and smacked her in the face before taking an iPhone, valued at $1,000, and left the area.

A couple of hours later, the victim and a witness returned to her residence and reportedly found Brown inside. They tried to get Brown to give back the phone, but he allegedly refused and began to the threaten the two. At that point, authorities said the witness used pepper spray on Brown and he left the residence.

After the second incident, officers located the vehicle Brown had been reported to be driving on eastbound U.S. 50/63. Officers said they tried to stop Brown, but he failed to yield to them, reaching speeds of 102 mph. Eventually the pursuit was terminated.

Authorities were able to find Brown and attempted to speak with him about these incidents, but he refused.

The second pursuit occurred Tuesday night at U.S. 50 East and Dix Road.

Evan Hogg, 39, was seen traveling at a high rate of speed and continually swerving from the shoulder to the median of the road and almost striking several vehicles, according to officers.

Officers tried to stop Hogg, but he continued to drive another three blocks before pulling over. He refused to give a breath test and do the standard sobriety test. Hogg allegedly later admitted to drinking and using cocaine.

Hogg was eventually charged with DWI and resisting arrest.
