Cole County courts celebrate recovery with week of events

Cole County treatment courts and their community partners are presenting Recovery Awareness Week 2022, beginning Sept. 19.

This is the second consecutive year the partners have teamed up for the celebration.

The week's free, family- friendly events are open to the public.

The week begins at noon Sept. 19 with a painting class at Landmark Recovery Center, 204 Metro Drive. A Celebration of Life begins at the center at 6 p.m.

Sunrise Yoga at JCMO Flow will be offered at 7 a.m. Sept. 20, at First United Methodist Church, 201 Monroe St. Basketball Night at the church begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 20.

The annual Treatment Court Graduation Ceremony is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Capital Region Medical Center Amphitheater in Riverside Park, 1425 Riverside Drive. Movie Night in the Park is to follow immediately. The movie has not been identified.

The "We are the Community" cleanup of Jefferson City is to take place all day Sept. 22. For more information, check on the treatment courts website at colecounty.org/treatmentcourts or on the Cole County Recovery Awareness Week Facebook page.

Hayrides and bonfires conclude the week, when folks will gather at 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at Binder Park, 5840 Rainbow Drive.
