Governor's Council on Disability (GCD) is seeking nominations for the 2022 annual Inclusion and Youth Leadership Awards.
GCD supports and promotes about one million Missourians with disabilities. They strive to educate the community, businesses, schools and other organizations of all the rights that are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Nominations for this event may be submitted online, faxed, mailed or emailed in by Jan. 31, 2023.
The Inclusion Award, in its 31st year, acknowledges private and public employers, individuals and organizations that have participated in including people with disabilities. This includes including individuals in education, employment, housing, leisure activities, universal design and website accessibility. Nominations are also accepted for people with state and local government divisions or employees that go above and beyond in inclusive fields.
The Youth Leadership Award, in its 10th year, is presented to an exceptional Missouri youth (age 16-26) with a disability. Individuals should exhibit ideal guidance and direction through participating in activities that enhance the value of life of a person with disabilities throughout the communities in Missouri.
