Author to speak on book about Columbia's hidden treasures

The author of a book written to take readers on a tour of Columbia's hidden treasures will talk about his book Monday at the Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City.

Stephen Paul Sayers, author of "100 Things to Do in Columbia, Missouri, Before You Die," will speak at 6:30 p.m.

With seasonal and themed itineraries for music, art and history lovers, along with shoppers, sports and outdoor enthusiasts, Sayers details what brings so many visitors to the Mid-Missouri city and why so many decide to make it their home.

The author of several best-selling novels, Sayers is a professor at the University of Missouri and a longtime Columbia resident. The Columbia book, his first foray into travel journalism, will be available for sale and signing after the program.
