News Tribune to hold three candidate forums

The News Tribune is holding election forums for three races in the Nov. 8 general election.

The forum for Missouri's 3rd Congressional District candidates is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 18. In this race, Republican incumbent Blaine Luetkemeyer faces Democratic challenger Bethany Mann.

The forum for Cole County presiding commissioner candidates is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 19, and the forum for state House District 60 candidates is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 19.

In the Cole County presiding commissioner race, incumbent Sam Bushman faces Independent challenger Carla Steck. For state House District 60, Republican incumbent Dave Griffith faces Democratic challenger J. Don Salcedo.

The forums will be open to the public at Jefferson City Hall, 320 E. McCarty St.

They will also be livestreamed at newstribune.com and the City of Jefferson YouTube channel.

Moderated by Editor Gary Castor, the forums will pose questions from the News Tribune staff and community members to the candidates.

Readers can submit questions for candidates via email to [email protected], and we'll ask the candidates to answer them in a future edition of the newspaper or at the forum.
