Girls Tennis: Lebanon 5, Jefferson City 1

LEBANON — The Jefferson City Lady Jays had their season come to an end Tuesday with a 5-1 dual loss to the Lebanon Lady Yellowjackets in the semifinals of the Class 2 District 5 Tournament.

Lebanon took a 3-0 lead at the end of doubles play. For Jefferson City, Anagha Garikapaty and Rachael Smith lost 3-8, Cora Wood and Olivia Littrell lost 3-8 and Emmarie Graham and Jada Barlow lost 0-8.

Graham won her singles match 6-0, 6-0 for the Lady Jays’ point. Wood fell 2-6, 1-6 and Smith lost 1-6, 3-6, clinching the dual win for Lebanon.

Jefferson City, the No. 3 seed in the district, ends its season with an 8-7 record.

Lebanon (16-4), the No. 2 seed, plays at 4 p.m. today against top-seeded Capital City (12-3) for the district title.
