Girls Basketball: St. Elizabeth 64, Jamestown 26

ST. ELIZABETH -- The St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets had a dominant defensive first half Thursday, opening their season with a 64-26 victory against the Jamestown Lady Eagles.

St. Elizabeth led 11-2 after one quarter and 33-10 at halftime. The Lady Hornets extended their lead to 47-22 by the end of the third quarter.

The Lady Hornets had four players score in double figures, led by Ella Lucas with a game-high 21 points. Tori Kemna followed with 11 points and Reagan Wobbe and Addie Oligschlaeger each finished with 10 points.

Samantha Wilson had a team-high 11 points for the Lady Eagles.

St. Elizabeth (1-0) is the No. 1 seed in next week’s Eugene Tournament. The Lady Hornets play eighth-seeded Vienna in the first round at 7 p.m. Monday.

Jamestown (0-1) plays next Tuesday at La Monte.
