Blair Oaks receives 9 applications for superintendent

by News Tribune Staff | November 23, 2022 at 4:02 a.m.

The Blair Oaks School District received nine applications for its superintendent position beginning in the 2023-24 school year.

The board met in a closed meeting Monday night to review applications. It plans to conduct interviews Monday, Nov. 28, Assistant Superintendent Kimberley Walters said.

The district has been working with the Missouri School Boards Association throughout the hiring process.

Walters, who has served as the liaison for the hiring process, said the board plans to interview four candidates.

Mark Harvey is currently serving as interim superintendent. Harvey took over for High School Principal Chris Marshall, who filled in as acting superintendent after longtime Superintendent Jim Jones retired over the summer following a nearly two-month unexplained leave of absence.

Harvey has past experience as an interim superintendent at Oak Grove R-6 Schools and superintendent at Pike County R-3 Schools in Clarksville.
