Lincoln women's basketball falls to Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Lincoln Blue Tigers dropped a 65-42 decision Monday afternoon to the Lynn Fighting Knights in women’s basketball action.

Lynn led 16-8 after one quarter before Lincoln trimmed the deficit to 25-20 at the half. But the Fighting Knights shot 81.8 percent from the field in the third quarter, outscoring the Blue Tigers 24-14 to take a 49-36 lead into the fourth quarter.

Le’Yanna McGinnis was the only Blue Tiger to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points. She also led Lincoln with six rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell and Niyah Jackson both added eight points.

Jada Marone finished with 13 points for Lynn (3-1).

Lincoln (1-2) will play Florida Southern at 5:30 p.m. today in Lakeland, Fla.
