Griffith out-raises Salcedo in Missouri House District 60 race

Rep. Dave Griffith's re-election campaign raised about 61/2 times more than his opponent's campaign during the last month before the general election.

Candidates are required to turn in a finances report eight days before the general election.

Griffith, a Republican serving the 60th District, raised $25,200 Oct. 1-27, most coming from political action committees.

His Democratic opponent, J. Don Salcedo, raised $3,900 in the same period, according to reports found on the Missouri Ethics Commission website https://www.mec.mo.gov.

Griffith has served two terms (four years) in the Missouri House. The district generally follows city lines, except it excludes North Jefferson City (north of the Missouri River) and a portion of the city south of U.S. 50 and west of Missouri 179.

State rules require candidates to list all contributors who give $100 or more.

Salcedo received $500 from the Cole County Democratic Central Committee ($1,000 in the aggregate), $200 from Greg Schildmeyer ($400 in the aggregate), and $100 each from Darrell Wyatt, Mary Kay Payne, Brian Warren, Bob Holden and Michael Lester.

The campaign also received $50 from Shirley Seabaugh ($120 in the aggregate).

Griffith's campaign received $2,000 from Walter Malmstrom III, and $1,000 each from the Flagship Council Political Action Committee (PAC), which supports elected officials who support the University of Missouri, Joseph Sheppers, John Sheehan, John Klebba, Mike Kampeter, Richard Kampeter, John Lucil, John Kehoe, Tom Naught, Mildred Schell and Clyde Lear.

His campaign received $500 contributions from the MR PAC (Missouri Retailers), Missouri Leadership Fund, ATGS PAC, Missouri Petroleum Convenience PAC, Missouri Realtors PAC, Missouri Insurance Coalition PAC, Missouri CPA PAC, AT&T Employee PAC, Missouri Realtors, Ben Bielski, Harvey Tettlebaum and Debbie Brown.

It received $300 each from Tom Kolb and Bob Asahi; $250 each from the Missouri Pork PAC, Rudy Veit, Larry Kolb, Robert Roebuck, Frederick Bodenhammer, Edward Clausen, Kevin Riley and Michael Bernskoetter; $200 each from David Turner and Ken Littlefield; and $100 each from Jack Curtit, Larry Schepker, John Goedde, Jim Schulte, Roy Michael, Tom Henke, Mathias Toksdorf, Ann Warren, Larry Brandhorst, Peter Goldschmidt, Samuel Bushman and Chris Graham.
