Concert raises $5,000 for Council for Drug Free Youth

Redemption Inside the Walls raised $5,000 at this year's concert to benefit Council for Drug Free Youth.

The Redemption Inside the Walls committee recently presented a check to the local nonprofit to help with its mission to "motivate, educate and collaborate to promote drug-free lifestyles among youth in Mid-Missouri."

Redemption Inside the Walls is a concert that aims to unify the Christian community and spread the message of the Bible and Jesus Christ, according to its website.

This year's event was Sept. 17 at the Jefferson City Jaycees Cole County Fairgrounds and featured Ireland-based Christian folk rock band Rend Collective.

"The response and support has been overwhelming for our Christian concert and revival, and we are already working on next year's event," the Redemption Inside the Walls committee said in a letter to sponsors and volunteers. "Please stay tuned for upcoming dates and band reveal."

Council for Drug Free Youth "works with community partners to provide inclusive activities" that teach youths to support one another and live healthy and drug-free lifestyles. Its vision is a "healthy, drug-free community," according to its website.
