Once dusk falls and the screen lights up Friday evening, "Clifford the Big Red Dog" will have officially kicked off the Stars Under the Stars season of free outdoor movies.

The events, sponsored by Healthy Blue and held at Ellis-Porter Riverside Park amphitheater start at approximately 8:45 p.m. (or when the sun goes down) for each Friday night movie. Currently on the schedule are the 2021 family-friendly comedy "Clifford the Big Red Dog" on Friday, followed by "The NeverEnding Story" on July 8 and "Jungle Cruise" on Aug. 5.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for a comfortable movie-watching experience. Concessions will be available to purchase, and pre-show activities are provided by Freshwater Church.

A chance of precipitation and thunderstorms Friday evening may postpone the first event. To stay updated on Stars Under the Stars, visit www.jcparks.com/events/ or the JC Parks Facebook page.
