COLUMBIA -- The Fatima Comets wrapped up their regular season Friday with a 4-0 loss to Class 6 No. 10 Hickman.

Five Hickman pitchers combined to throw a two-hit shutout. Both Comet hits came from Chase Plassmeyer, who had a one-out single to left field in the first inning and a two-out single to right field in the third.

Hickman scored two runs in the first inning, one in the fourth and one in the fifth. Braden Hemmer had a two-run home run for the Kewpies (22-9).

Evan Kliethermes pitched the first four innings for Fatima, giving up three runs on five hits and one walk. Max Buscher relieved him for the final two innings, striking out one and allowing one run on one hit.

Fatima (14-12) is the No. 3 seed in next week’s Class 4 District 8 Tournament at Southern Boone High School. The Comets play second-seeded Blair Oaks (20-13) -- ranked No. 10 in Class 4 -- in the semifinals 7 p.m. Tuesday.
