FAYETTE -- Central Methodist senior first baseman Madison Love was selected to the Heart of America Athletic Conference softball all-conference second team, the league announced last Friday.

Love (New Bloomfield High School) has played in all 45 games this season for the Eagles, posting a .352 batting average (45-for-120) with three home runs, 29 RBI and 22 runs scored.

Love also pitched in nine games for Central Methodist, with seven starts in the circle. She has a 3-3 record with a 4.77 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 29⅓ innings.

Last season, Love made the all-Heart first team as a pitcher, winning 22 games while batting .311 with five homers.

Central Methodist (40-5), ranked No. 9 in the NAIA Top 25 poll, won the Heart’s conference tournament Sunday.

The Eagles received the No. 1 seed in the Bowling Green (Ky.) bracket of the Opening Round of the NAIA softball national championships. They will play fourth-seeded St. Mary of the Woods (Ind.) at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
