WESTPHALIA -- Evan Kliethermes, Max Buscher and Blake Gentges combined to pitch a four-hitter Tuesday, as the Fatima Comets knocked off the Class 6 No. 1 Rock Bridge Bruins for a 2-0 victory.

Each pitcher struck out one batter and did not allow a walk. Kliethermes, who was the winning pitcher, gave up one hit in four innings. Buscher allowed two hits in two innings of relief and Gentges gave up a hit in the seventh to earn the save.

Fatima scored both runs in the bottom of the second inning. Noah Jaegers reached on an error and then advanced to third base on Jack Robertson’s single. The next batter, Easton Stuckenschneider, singled to score Jaegers to give the Comets at 1-0 lead.

Buscher grounded out to the pitcher to score Robertson for an insurance run.

Chase Plassmeyer doubled and Buscher singled for the Comets’ other hits.

All four hits were singles for Rock Bridge (27-9).

Fatima (14-11) will wrap up its regular season tonight at Hickman (21-9). First pitch is at 5 p.m.
