Christian music tour coming to amphitheater

Three Christian musical acts will join forces May 6 in the Capital City in the My God is Still the Same tour.

The show, featuring Sanctus Real, Stars Go Dim and Tim Timmons, will hit the stage at 7:30 p.m. at the Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater in Riverside Park, 300 Ellis Porter Drive.

Ohio-based trio Sanctus Real formed in 1996 and has earned two Grammy Award nominations and a GMA Dove Award with a total of nine studio albums including 2019's Unstoppable God, according to a VenuWorks news release announcing the concert. Sanctus Real has also had numerous top singles on Christian radio formats, including "My God is Still the Same," "Unstoppable God," "Lead Me" and "Confidence."

Stars Go Dim, from Oklahoma, released a full-length album in 2019 with singles like "Heaven on Earth" and "It's Gonna Get Better," according to Christian music booking company GOA, Inc, which announced the tour.

Worship musician Tim Timmons released two projects in 2021, Here and Here (Live with Friends), according to GOA. He also runs the 10,000 Minutes podcast with Stars Go Dim musician Chris Cleveland and Emmoe Doniz.

Tickets for the May 6 performance go on sale Friday through ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $24-$36, depending on seating location.
