MOKANE, Mo. -- The South Callaway R-2 School District installed a new sign at the high school as the last step in a facelift for the building.

Superintendent Kevin Hillman said the work started last summer, but some material delays made the project take longer than expected.

The sign was picked to be consistent with the other signage around campus and "complete the front of the school," he said.

At night, the sign will light up.

Hillman said the facelift also included cleaning and sealing the exterior of the building, replacing the landscaping out front and all the outside doors and windows.

"The metal face of the building was painted a blue that compliments the color of the sealant and is more consistent with the school colors and other buildings on campus," Hillman said.
