Your Opinion: Myth of CRT, BLM and 1619 Project

Dear Editor,

Neither CRT, BLM or the 1619 Project are an accurate representation of our history or equality for the citizens, rather they are used to divide us ethnically, economically and physically through greed and opinions.

We became a nation in 1776, not 1619, and we inherited slavery. Our Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. -- That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

I agree with our Declaration of Independence the Founding Fathers should have abolished slavery at our nation's birth, regrettably they compromised, and we had four years of a bloody Civil War. Should Juneteenth be celebrated, absolutely lest we forget the United States didn't invent, but abolished slavery.

The 13 colonies didn't fight a revolution against prospering; they fought over the disparity of rights. The people fighting were not all Christians, but they did respect Christian values.

Our country and immigration laws were founded on the premise that anyone can do anything they are qualified for and with hard work. I have many human heroes, but none stand higher than George Washington Carver and Ben Carson. Both came from poverty and both attained recognition and contributed not only to the United States but the world. Both were/are Christians and recognize God as the source of their achievements.

My authority comes from how Jesus tells us to live but for those who don't accept his authority, just live out what the Declaration of Independence and Constitution plainly state, "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

This is only possible with the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

The First Amendment affirms the citizen's right to worship God how they believe without government interference. Someone needs to point this out to our politicians and courts.
