Kentucky motorcyclist injured in US 54 accident

A man from Kentucky was hurt after he crashed his motorcycle Sunday night in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports state the crash occurred at 6:20 p.m. on westbound U.S. 54, just east of Old Bass Road.

Raymond Thomas, 49, was traveling at high speed, ran off the right side of the road and overturned.

He was ejected from the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet.

Thomas was transported by helicopter ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia to be treated for serious injuries.
