Voter registration deadline nears

by News Tribune staff [email protected] | June 19, 2022 at 3:55 a.m.

The deadline to register to vote for the Aug. 2 primary election will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 6.

If you live in Cole County and are not properly registered at your current address, you will need to update your address. An address change form is available at www.colecounty.org/clerk or you can come into the clerk's office on the second floor of the Cole County Courthouse Annex, 311 E. High St. Regular office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Absentee voting for the primary election will run Tuesday through Monday, Aug. 1.

Those who would like to apply for an absentee ballot should do so as soon as possible so the ballots have ample time to get back to the clerk's office by 7 p.m. Aug. 2, officials in the clerk's office said. For more information, contact the clerk's office at 573-634-9101. The deadline for the clerk's office to mail out an absentee ballot will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 20.
