Redemption Inside the Walls is celebrating the "The Joy of the Lord" at its upcoming concert while helping promote drug-free lifestyles among youths.

Redemption Inside the Walls is a concert that aims to unify the Christian community and spread the message of the Bible and Jesus Christ, according to its website.

The fourth annual Redemption Inside the Walls concert is 5 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Jefferson City Jaycees Fairgrounds, 1445 Fairgrounds Road, with headliner Rend Collective. This year's theme is "Joy of the Lord."

Rend Collective is a Christian, experimental, folk rock worship band from Northern Ireland. It's best known for songs like "Your Name Is Power," "Counting Every Blessing" and the platinum single "My Lighthouse." The band includes Gareth Gilkeson, Chris Llewellyn, Ali Gilkeson and Stephen Mitchell. It's forthcoming new album, "Whosoever," will release Aug. 26.

The concert will benefit Council for Drug Free Youth, whose mission is to "motivate, educate and collaborate to promote drug-free lifestyles among youth in Mid-Missouri," according to its website.

The event will also include a silent raffle to benefit Leah Hargrove. Paula Benne, concert organizer, initially started the concert as a way to raise funds for Leah, a Centertown child who was born with several disabilities.

Along with music, RITW will feature the presentation of the five Fisher Family Good Samaritan Awards, which honor community members who go out of their way to help others. The News Tribune is partnering with RITW to select winners.

The News Tribune is asking community members to submit nominations for the award.

A Fisher Family Good Samaritan Award recipient should be a person who:

• Lives in Mid-Missouri.

• Does good deeds out of compassion and not because of any hope of reward.

• May shy away from attention about his or her efforts.

• Unselfishly helps others and extends mercy, especially to strangers.

Nominations can be submitted below or at https://www.newstribune.com/goodsamaritan/.

When submitting a nomination for the Fisher Family Good Samaritan Award, include the nominee's name, a 200-word or less description of why he or she is a good samaritan and a photo of the person.

The News Tribune is accepting nominations until Aug. 20.

Community members then will be able vote for who they think deserves the award. Voting will begin Aug. 21 and run through Aug. 27. Community members can vote at https://www.newstribune.com/goodsamaritan/ .

The News Tribune will select the other four award recipients.

The recipients will be invited to the Sept. 17 Redemption Inside the Walls concert where they will receive their awards.
